“O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”*  My former student from South Africa is coming to visit.  Having stood fixedly before my computer, pouring out nonsense or no-sense 5 days a week for the last 7-and-a- quarter years, I’m going to take a holiday.  I shall be absent from my post starting tomorrow, but will return, Monday July 31.   I won’t be leaving my readers, entirely.  One of my dedicated readers has selected blogs from the past to cover the next two weeks.

She has been busy at her task and culled through over a thousand blogs, making choices as far back as 2010.  As you read them, I wonder if my voice will seem to have changed over the years.  Will you notice a difference?  Have I grown cynical with age?  Softer?  Literate?  Illiterate? I’m curious to know what you think.

The curator of this vacation collection has revealed her personal fancy, I suspect: dreamy, meditative wanderings of my mind.  I thank her for her service, though not enough words exist to do it properly.  In this turbulent world, one should always have a friend named Christine.

Please, enjoy her trip down memory lane.  I shall return July 31, remember.
