I’ve been trying to forestall this announcement for a while but can delay it no longer.  Earlier this year I hinted that the demands of self-publishing and promoting my memoir, Getting Lost to Find Home next November might require me to publish these blogs less frequently for a while.  Sadly, I have arrived at that juncture. If all goes well, I’ll resume my Tuesday and Thursday schedule in 2024.  But for now, it will appear on Thursdays only.  To finish out the month, look for me on December  15, 22, and 29.   For those who wish to stay tuned, consider subscribing.  I don’t want to lose you, and I can’t thank you enough for your readership.  What a compliment you pay me.

I thank you so much for your patience Angelia. Birthing a book is almost like birthing a baby...consuming.

I'll be back fulltime once the book is public (11/2023.) I am so grateful for your support.

Hi Caroline, I read with interest your recent blog on the challenges of self-publishing. Like you, I'm thinking about one more book and, like you, I don't want to even attempt the agent/publisher/send out a gazillion queries route.. I have several friends who have self-published -- with varying results, The most "affordable" was a dismal failure format-wise and I'm not sure whether my past years of journalistic training, layout, etc would be helpful or not. The very best one -- which I mistook for a mainline press -- was expensive, but if I could afford it, I think that's what I would choose. The marketing and distribution is another matter entirely. I could manage the local outlets to whom I supply my current books but, depending upon how this next one comes together, I may want to access a wider market. Early days yet, but I hope to continue this pondering with you into 2023! I'll miss your blogs! Every single one gives me a good shake or a stretch in the right direction! I do hope we can stay in touch despite all... Sydney

Sydney, glad to hear your working on a new book. I continue to write my blogs but in 2103, they will appear only once a week on Thursdays. Once the book is public, I'll return to the 2 day format, publishing again on Tuesdays as well. ULnder the "Perchance to Dream" title, I will continue to share what I learn in this selfp-publishing universe. If I can be of any use, don't hesitate to ask questions.
