THE WEARING OF THE GREEN

As Saturday is St. Patrick’s day, I can think of no better way to celebrate the occasion than by honoring an Irish author who is the living spirit of Emerald Isle, at least as I imagine it. Lizzy Shannon resides in the Pacific Northwest, though she is from Ireland, and is the author of three books: “Tempest Raise” ( Sci-Fi); “Time Twist” (Sci-Fi) and a third book, “A Celtic Yearbook, which celebrates Irish folklore, festivals and superstitions. She’s also done theater work, another string to her artistic bow.

So, on this eve of St. Patrick’s Day, I celebrate not Bram Stoker, James Joyce or Oscar Wilde. I celebrate an Irish woman writer who is living well in Oregon.  May her talent earn her lots and lots of green.
