Monika Bauerlein, CEO of Mother Jones, thinks President Donald Trump’s apparent madness has method in it.  (Why Does the Press Keep Helping Trump?” by Monika Bauerlein, Mother Jones, Jan/Feb 2018 pg. 5.)  She accuses him of spinning the truth each day, not to influence, but to c

A Kind Word For Nancy Pelosi

Dec 20, 2018

Nancy Pelosi may turn out to be the IT girl of modern politics.  Those who view her as “old guard” and argue it’s time for a change, might be looking out the rear view window while Nancy, sitting in the driver’s seat, has a clear view of the road ahead.   Oh yes, at least o

A friend emailed me a question the other day.  ” Caroline, can you suggest any artists you think I would enjoy?  I’ve cleared a few walls and even though it’s not a financially good time for new, original art, I think prints can sometimes be found at quite reasonable p

Is the Bible the word of God or manmade?    A Kenyan minister and I were debating that point on Facebook, recently.  During the course of our exchange, I pointed out European missionaries had brought Christianity to Africa.  For some reason he refused to accept that reality and t

Poor Barbara Streisand.  While promoting her new music album  Wall, she made a boo-boo.  She said white women didn’t vote for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Presidential election because they didn’t know their minds and followed the advice of their husbands.  The remark  caught

Pop Up Shops, Retail Buzz And Ephemeral Events

“What’s that?” From the window inside the bus, I pointed to a line of people curling around the street corner of a downtown building. The individual beside me looked up from her reading.   “A pop up shop.” As her eyes drifted back to her page, I made a mental note to googl

Dec 10, 2018

“You made it so easy.”  The woman on the other end of the phone laughed.  She was referring to an email I’d sent to friends about Barnes And Noble’s holiday 20% discount  on my books. I sent the message more for vanity than for sales.   I was tickled to see my novel, Hear
